Capacity: 102 children, 6 classes including 4 classes for children with special needs, 1 regular and 1 diagnostic class
Location: Krč Housing Estate, low pavilions, beautiful large garden with ancient oak tree.
The Special Kindergarten is part of the Children's Integration Centre and
Kindergarten Ltd. (Dětské integrační centrum a mateřská škola s.r.o). Children's
Intergration Centre and Kindergarten offers comprehensive educational, medical.
social care and services for children with health problems, who are integrated
into the classes with healthy children in mixed age-groups. All our efforts are
directed to minimising the long-term effects of a handicap on children and also
to prevent health problems with healthy children. Every class has a specific
focus. The first class much in demand from parents is bilingual, this class has
two Czech teachers (one fluent in English) and one native English teacher. The
Kindergarten is part of the Czech school system and all of the activities are in
accordance with its own curriculum.
The diagnostic class involves shorter periods of attendance from 2-6 months with
the aim of helping the child to adapt and establish a future form of education
in a pre-school environment, according to the child's individual needs. The
third class is the integration class, which is aimed at integrating several
children with health problems among healthy children. Another class is for
children with combined disabilities, where the children have limited motor
abilities as a result of infantile paralysis. The last class is for children
with allergies, eczema, diabetes, impaired immunity system and so forth. All the
activities of the centre and the kindergarten are based on the idea of a healthy
lifestyle as applied to every sphere of life, including diet, interpersonal
relations, the environment, education, care and so on.
